2012 has started with a bang..

With the title of full time teacher, and full time photographer.. lets just say that 2012 has started out with a bang. I've already photographed 2 weddings.. and i'm well in to testing my little 2nd graders for middle of the year reading levels. Gracie, Matt's 4 year old yellow lab, has come to live with me for good now, which definitely keeps my on my toes and I've been doing a great job walking her and Murray every day! Just in the month of January, I photographed urban bellies, sweet peas, 2 weddings, and a couple of families already.

To keep up the momentum, I'm going to be offering a REFERRAL program until the end of February. For anyone who books a session.. then has a friend book because of their photos, will get a $25 credit towards their gallery. Each referral gets $25. Get 4 referrals.. receive $100 credit.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. My little family went over to my uncles house. It was Dean's first Thanksgiving. My best part of the day was when I rocked him to put him down for his nap... which put me to sleep too. Mom said we both slept in the recliner for about an hour.. and that we were too cute to wake up. I love that little guy.

Here are a few photos from an engagement session last week. Jennifer and I have been friends since high school. We cheer together at Spring. I enjoyed their session so much and she had some of the cutest props.

I love engagement sessions! It's only better when I get to photograph one of my long time friends! Justin and I have been great friends since 6th grade! And I actually played softball with his fiance, Tracie, back in Elementary school! Justin's family owns about 800 acres out in Normangee, Texas. So we drove up there and spent the day driving around the 4 streets of town (blink and you'll miss it) and driving all over their property finding great spots. Here are a few of my favorites! :)

Life has been so crazy since the start up of school. I'm not sure whether it's the back to teaching part, or that photography is as busy as ever right now (THANK YOU!!) and I'm trying to do both full time. At the end of the day I feel so exhausted.. but I stop and think how lucky I am to be doing what I love! In the past 2 weeks I've photographed 3 newborn sessions, a 3 sweet peas session, engagement session, family session... and tomorrow I'll photograph a family session in the morning and an engagement session in the afternoon! After that, I finally get to take a breath. Then it's back to work on Monday! Here are a few of the little ones I photographed... Enjoyy

In the last month I have photographed 2 weddings at the same venue. Amber Springs, in Montgomery, is a very popular venue to get married in 2011. In July 2010, my best friend, Kelly, married her sweet hubby there. Since I was in the wedding I wasn't the photographer. I'm so glad that I had the chance to photograph there this year! We're 4 weeks into school and things are going so great. I love teaching second grade and have some absolutely wonderful children. I'm excited to see their growth this year. Here is sweet Hannah. She was over 8lbs when she was born! Isn't she precious? Her parents, Kelly & Austin, are just obsessed with their little bundle of joy. I photographed Kelly's urban belly session a while back. I love when I get to photograph the mommy first, and then meet the little bundle a few months later. It makes me feel kinda part of the family for a minute. Here are just a few sneak-a-roos for you!

Today was my first day back at school. Thankfully, we have a week of staff development and meetings before the kiddos come back. I'll be teaching second grade this year and I'm super excited. I've had all summer to get things prepared! Since my classroom has a safari theme i've created Safari Star Cards, Class Compliment Vine w/ a moving monkey, a job wheel.. and a few more things! I'm looking forward to a great year!

On another note, I've been in "re-vamp" mode since July! I've been working with a designer to create a new logo and fresh look! My new website should be up at the beginning of September! To try to keep things a little more organized with school and photography, I'll be taking shoots on Mondays and Wednesdays in the afternoon, and Saturday mornings. I will occasionally make arrangements if one of those times won't work for your schedule however.

August 6th, 2011, I photographed Graham and Melissa's wedding! It was so much fun and they had their reception at La Tranquila.. one of my favorite venues. Here is a sneak peek, and also the new logo you'll be seeing from now on! ENJOY

Keagan - 1st Birthday

As most of you know, I teach in Conroe ISD along with doing photography. Amy is our librarian at my elementary and Keagan is her little boy. I have LOVED the photos she's had up in her office of him and was very excited when she asked me to photograph him for his first birthday! He is so cute! He's been walking since he was 10 months so needless to say, most of the session was me chasing him with my camera and mom singing and dancing to get his attention. Thankfully, Keag's grandma came to our session and he loves her! She was such a big help. Here are a few of my favorites!

This summer has been so much fun! One of my best friends Joelle had her second little boy back at the beginning of March, he is exactly 20 days older then Dean! She, Everett and Lathan have come to see me once almost every week I've been off! We've gone swimming and to see Cars 2 at the movies, out to lunch, and to play at Chic-fil-A! This past Monday they came over, brought me breakfast, and we took a couple of photos of Lathan since its been 4 months since I last photographed him. He's getting to be such a big boy.. and has the CUTEST chunky legs! I love him! We just played around in my living room but they turned out tooooo cute! ENJOYY

My Birthday - 25yrs old

This past Wednesday I turned 25... a quarter of a century. Birthdays have always been a big deal in my family, but I think some ages are just a little more special.. 16,18,21,25,30,40,50.. those ages that are like milestones where you look back and see whats happened the past years. I've always hung out with friends older then me, so I've always felt like the baby.. plus I'm the baby of the family... we'll until my little nephew came along. Turning 25 really made me stop and think of all then I've been through, what I've accomplished, and what else I still have to look forward to. If you know me, you know that I have a list.. a list of things I want to do in my lifetime, and I actually have a hard copy of it because I LOVE to cross things off! I'm always adding but its nice to be able to scratch out one every now and then. Swimming with Dolphins and an African safari are just 2 on the list.

Looking back at my 25 years I've made it through high school in one piece, found a couple of friends that will be a friend forever, I moved away from everyone I knew to live in a different city, 9 hours away, to attend Texas Tech. I graduated college with a degree that's going to let me do what I love as my job, photography! I've started my own little business that keeps growing and growing.. I worked hard to get my teaching certificate.. and now I'm going into my 3rd year of teaching. I've rescued a doggie that has become my favorite thing on Earth.. even if he's a little booger sometimes.

I've fallen in love, I've had my heart broken, I've tested my own strengths, I've found that everything happens for a reason.. and I won't find the reasons when I'm looking for them but they'll find me when it's time to know. I've learned that even when it feels like it's the end of the world.. its not, and something better is waiting around the corner. :) just be patient.. I realized that I have to love and respect myself first before anyone else will.. and its the best feeling in the world to have a someone special believe and respect in you just as much, which is just a recent discovery :)

All in all, I know what a blessed life I have! And I'm going to try not to take any of it for granted! I feel that 25 is going to be the best year yet for me!

and next week I will mark 3 things off.. 1. Go to an out-of-state workshop 2. Visit Colorado in the summer time AND 3. GO WHITE WATER RAFTING!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so excited/nervous about next week's workshop! It's completely out of my element. I feel better that Murray will be with Matt so I won't have to worry about him being sad while I'm gone.

I've been in quite a funky mood lately because I have the whole summer off from school... and no vacations planned! I've had mini ones, here and there.. but not a true.. out of state vaca. I've been looking into the National Association of Professional Children Photographers (NAPCP) retreat since back in April. Since my Brainwash with Lauren Clark back in December, I've been dying to go to another workshop! So in a last chance effort I contacted Kristen with NAPCP to see if they had any openings left for their July 25-28 retreat and they had a few left! SO I'M GOING!! I'm so excited because many of you know I have a "To Do List." This workshop is giving me the chance to scratch not 1 but 2 things off the list.. I'm going to the mountains in the summer time (growing up we always went skiing in Colorado but it was in the winter/early spring months) AND I'm going white water rafting! I can't wait to show ya'll all the fun photos. I'm so excited to meet new people that have as big a passion for photography as I do!!

This is where I'll be staying and the retreat will be held...The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa, Beaver Creek hotel!! I plan to horseback ride while I'm there too!!

Probably my most favorite thing about being off this summer is that I've gotten the chance to see my nephew, Dean, at least once a week. I can't believe he's already 3 months old! Time flys!! As you know, I went to Texas Tech University where I got my degree in Photocommunications. Throughout my 4 years in school, I had the privilege of studying under Wyman Meinzer, the official state photographer of Texas. He's a Red Raider too!! Words cannot express how lucky I feel to have had the chance to learn from him, and to be able to call him my friend now. Wymie, as I like to call him ;), is a one of a kind man who has taught me so many things. Cause for the Paws!

This weekend I road-tripped to the little ol' town of Lindale, TX (just right outside of Tyler) with one of my besties, Tara. We are pretty much.. OBSESSED with Miranda Lambert! Tara a little more than me ;) It was Miranda's 4th annual Cause for the Paws charity event! Friday night we went to Miranda's winery where we listened to Bri Bagwell and Brian Keen.. then Miranda's Dad, Rick, got up and jammed! It was such an amazing, intimate experience that I'll never forget! Saturday we drove out to Tyler where we watch Bri, Josh Kelley, STONEY LARUEEEEE, and Miranda all perform! There was over $50,000 raised for her Muttnation Foundation! All the proceeds will go to help rescue and save abused animals! It's for the puppies and the kitties.. the horses and the piggies! :) Here are just a few pics from my phone.. i'll post more hopefully soon!

This experience was so near to my heart because I rescued my little man, Murray Wayne. Named after my two favorite cowboys, Ty Murray & John Wayne.. Matt calls him a Cowboy Poodle haha. This weekend is Easter!! So much to be thankful for! Even though i'm going on 25 this year.. my mommy still makes me an Easter basket each year... she's just the best! I photographed one of my favorite shoots a couple of weeks ago with Graedon and 5 baby chicks! I photographed the Graedon's little family back over Christmas so when his mom called me for his Easter photos I was super excited! I've been trying to find the time to fix the mess I've made of my blog, but with 4 sessions and a wedding last week, 6 sessions this week, and another session along with TAKS the next.. I think my blog is going to have to look a little plain till I find find a spare moment! April has been such a crazy month for me but I've loved it! I haven't had the chance to shoot many seniors since I've moved back to the area so I'm so excited that part of my little biz has picked up! Well 2011 is in full swing and I'm feeling the pressure of TAKS coming up for my kiddos at school 100%. January and February are usually a little slow for me as far as photography goes, but going full force at my other J O B, teaching. Tomorrow is FRIDAYYY the day before my spring break! And next week that is what I intend to do, break. I'm going to use next week to relax.. getting things organized.. and get caught up on all the little things I've been putting off. Monday I'm going to my friend Jean's house for a little horseback riding.. I'll definitely post pics! :)

For those of you who read my blog, when I blog ;), you know my family is my world! My Dad has only girls (Mama, Sister, MEE) so he was sorta happy (haha just joking Pedee) when Pete married into the family over a year ago! He finally had a guy on his side besides all the puppy dogs. Well... as you know from previous blogs.. Sister has had a bun in her oven since last July :) and guess what?? IT'S A BOY! We are all thrilled and can't wait for this little guy to make his entrance into the world late March. I already know he's going to steal my heart, and I'm going to be his favvvvvvorite Aunt! Here are a few to finish up my sneak peek of Hank and his cute little family! This is Hank, cousin of the sweet little Hayes. Lee (Hayes' daddy) is the younger brother of Derric (Hank's daddy). I've photographed Hayes' mommy and daddy's Urban Belly Session, then his newborn, and 3 months! Next week I will photograph him at 6 months! Well, I photograph Sam and Derric's (Hank's mommy & daddy) Urban Belly session.. and now I get to photograph their little guy! Needless to say.. The Harughty's (Derric, Lee, and both their wives) are A W E S O M E, wonderful people. I feel so blessed to get to photograph these little boys and their families! We drove out to Navasota about a week ago to photograph Hank for his first birthday. The theme, fire trucks! While we were shooting we went ahead and photographed for their Christmas card. Ummm lets put the last few weeks into a nutshell.. I'm pretty much going crazy. I had 2 weddings in a row these last weekends and I have another one this weekend. My house sold so I, well my momma, daddy, and Pete moved me this wkd into a cute little one bedroom apartment in The Woodlands..(I was photographing Morgan & Morgan's wedding, I have the best family!! THANK YOUUU). The 1st 9 weeks ended at school on Friday so I had tons of paperwork to finish up on, OH yea I had 3 sessions on top of that.. If I can just make it though this weekend I'll be good to go! Here's my favorite pic from the Conner kids session in Huntsville a while back. Saturday morning I photographed the Genseal family. These two lovebirds both graduated from my highschool. Little Jackson is 3 months old now so they felt it was time for a family photo.. and of course a few of the little man by himself. He was just precious. He worked the camera so well and once it was time for an outfit change into his Halloween costume, Jackson decided that was enough. He ate a little and then was out like a light. Everyone knows I like to talk.. alot. I think I get it from my momma ( love you :) ) So, when Sister and Pedee decided to tell me some big news WAYYY to early it was so hard to keep my mouth shut because I was just so super excited. FINALLY.. Sister posted a new blog on their RUNDOWN and now I get to finally break the news on mine!

I've been up since 7am this morning with a bridal shoot in Magnolia, TX. Now i'm back home finishing up editing 2 weddings and playing with the puppies. I don't usually post photos of my personal life, usually just photography stuff.. but my babies are the cutest things in the world, so I couldn't help myself. Matt's gone to the deer lease for the weekend, and Mark went to a wedding in Ft. Worth.. SOOO that means I get to have the puppies! This summer Scout and Gracie spent so much time at my house I decided they love me more than the boys, and I SWEAR that has nothing to do with the fact I give them treats EVERY day and take them to the park ;)

This past Saturday night we went to Tut's in Conroe for some live Texas Country music!! Mark Jones is one of my very best friends, Matt's twin brother, and an AWESOME singer/songwriter! It was my first time to hear Bri Bagwell and she's great too! Her and Mark were cracking each other up on stage. They did an acoustic song swap before The Josh Ward Band went on. A few weeks ago I photographed Morgan & Morgan's Engagement Session. It was so funny trying to tell them how to pose because they have the same name! Ha. I was cracking myself up! Look at mee.. blogging again! Today was my very first day of my second year of teaching. Things went really well.. crazy as usual though. It's going to be so hard to get out of summer mode and back into the swing of getting up early. Boo. You've seen this little face plenty of times before on my blog. Everett is my adopted nephew :) Joelle, his momma, has been one of my best friends since the beginning of high school. I was in Lubbock when Ev was born but I tried to see him and Jo every time I came down. Every time I saw him he had changed sooo much!! Once I moved back to Spring, I was able to see them all the time! I wouldn't change it for the world! Now that Everett will be two on July 8th, he has turned into such a little boy... he finally calls me CoCo!! And it just melts my heart when he does!!! I'm so thankful that I get to be a part of his life!! Watching Joelle and him I'm just amazed at how much of an amazing mother she is! I'm so proud of you Joey!! I've just now started to photograph newborn babies. It has been quite the challenge let me tell you!! One thing I have learned.. turn up the heat! Tomorrow starts my last week of my first year teaching! woohoo :) I've made it through! This summer I have lots of plans to really focus on my photography and get my bottom in gear. I plan to take a workshop or two, update my website, and finish a few sample albums! My 3 day weekend was absolutely amazing and we ended it very nicely listening to Scooter Brown and Mark Jones out on the Patio at Whiskey River. Very Nice. I'm headed to Lubbock after work Friday for a wedding on Saturday and some much needed time with my LBK besties!

This June I will go back to Lubbock, TX, to meet one of the newest loves in my life, Greyson Lee Helms. I met Shandus and Colby almost 5 years ago. I met so many wonderful people in the 5 years I lived in Lubbock. She has forever changed my life and I am so thankful that I have them both. Shannie is one of the sweetest, funniest ladies i've had the pleasure of meeting (Colby's pretty dang awesome too). I've been there to see her turn 21, get engaged, marry the love of her life, and now I get to see her become a mother. There's no doubt in my mind that she won't be one of the most incredible mothers on Earth! At the beginning of April I flew up to help host her baby shower. I wouldn't have missed it for the world! Shannie you are an amazing friend, it doesnt get better, or more "flossy" than you!

There's a couple of lines from my absolute favorite movie in the whole, wide world!! 8 Seconds :) Anyways... On my Christmas vacation from teaching I photographed Alicia's Urban Belly session!! Her hubby, Justin, tagged along to and was such a good sport. These two are welcoming their first child, Lane, in February. I can't wait to meet this little one!! I enjoyed this shoot so much, I love my Urban Bellies sessions!! ENJOY

I traveled to Lubbock, Texas, this past weekend to photograph my first wedding of 2010!! I met Brett about 4 1/2 years ago and he is one amazing guy! You couldn't ask for a better friend! Brett met Kandis while working at Triple J's :) yummy! These two are a perfect pair and two of the sweetest people in the world! Congratulations you two, i'm so happy for you!!
